After a summer full of fires & floods in Southern Gila County's Pinal Mountains some roads have recovered and have become open. Others are still in the process of being repaired.

The main road that most people know, FR 651 up to signal peak
is open, maintained, and in good shape – with a few patches of ice from recent snowstorms.
FR 112, the Pioneer Pass Road, is also open – but with a few narrow and tricky washouts in switchbacks that have been eroded by creeks that are running The Forest Service rebuilt FR 112 during 2021-2022 following extensive damage from the Telegraph Fire and associated flash-flooding that scoured canyons and creeks.
FR 112 was mostly dry and passable Feb. 4 – we were easily able to drive up to the ‘Iron Bridge’ about a mile above the IceHouse CCC camp; the Iron Bridge is a popular spot to park and access the Six-Shooter Canyon Trail – which is now open for hiking, and is the only reopened trail currently accessible on the Pioneer Pass side of the range.
Trails that are CLOSED include the East Mountain Trail, Una Del Oso, Check Dam, and Toll Road.
